Reppin’ Sask hip hop since 2004!
About the def SOL Crew
Since the start of def SOL Productions in 2004, a core group of urban dancers have been chosen annually to represent the company at various private, public and corporate events. Over the years, the def SOL Crew has put Sask Hip Hop on the map by competing and performing across Canada as well as rocking the stage at numerous local concerts, shows and festivals each year.
Early performance highlights include opening for recording artists NAS (Hip Hop legend) & Joe Budden (“Pump it UP”, “Fire”), the Jabbawockeez, Supa Cru, and WE Day. In the summer of 2010, the def SOL Crew was showcased as a feature act for “Love, Saskatchewan”, a 3 -Day Festival at Harborfront Center in Toronto, featured act for 2014 Lieutenant Governor’s Arts Awards. Recent highlights include placing 1st & Platinum in the open small group category at the 2016 Artist Emerge national street dance competition where they also received the ‘All Stylez Award’ for the whole event!
About the def SOL Company
For larger showcases, int/adv students from our performance classes are often invited to join the crew on stage. These dancers train during the season as part of the def SOL Sr & Jr Company, a seasonal program that trains dancers in a variety of street styles in addition to learning choreography for company shows and public events. Past performances by the def SOL Company include: Folk Festival, PotashCorp Fireworks Festival, Reggae & World Music Festival, Harlem Globetrotters, B.R.I.T. Dragon Boat Races and many more! Also holding it down on the competitive scene, this year’s company recently won 2nd & Platinum at Artists Emerge as well as an Adjudicator’s Choice Award from Anthony Lee (Kinjaz).
