A non-refundable registration fee of $25.00 (per student/family) is due at the time of registration to secure your spot in our performance dance classes. This fee helps offset the administrative cost of setting up your student in our studio-class-management & communication systems and helps keep your monthly tuition costs lower. Not applicable to students who are recreational only.
Tuition & Missed Classes
Tuition is based on a yearly fee divided by 10 months for customer convenience. It bears no relationship to the number of classes in any given month. Tuition is paid monthly to hold a student’s place in class(es) and must be paid regardless of the student’s attendance, sickness or vacation each month. Tuition is not pro-rated for any late enrolments after the first of the month, although missed classes may be made up if there is an appropriate class to attend.
Costume deposits are due and payable at the time of registration but may be post dated for October 1. This deposit will be subtracted from your costume invoice that is sent out when the costumes arrive for our Year-End dance showcase and/or competitions. The costume deposit becomes non-refundable on October 31 (Semester 1) and February 28 (Semester 2).
A late fee will be added to accounts on the 10th of each month if tuition has not yet been paid. Accounts with a balance owing of $0.00 to $200.00 will be charged a $15.00 late fee. Accounts with a balance owing of $200.00 or higher will be charged a $30.00 late fee. Other charges separate from tuition amounts will have a 30 day payment expectation before the same late fees are charged to accounts (ex. competition fees). Note: If the account isn’t in good standing by the end of that month your/your child won’t be allowed to come back to dance class till fees have been caught up. Late fees will be enforced beginning June 2018.
Returned Cheques (NSF)
A $25.00 NSF fee will be charged on any returned cheque. If a client has 2 NSF cheques, their account will become cash only and 3 months of dance tuition will need to be paid in advance.
It is important for the students to have good attendance. Missed classes will cause the dancer to fall behind in the work being taught. Commitment contracts will be in place for competitive dancers. In competitive groups, two absences from class will be accepted. If the number of missed classes exceeds two, a meeting may be called and that dancer could face being removed from a competitive class setting.
Withdrawal from Class
Class Cancellation must be received in writing 24 hours prior to the start of the course to receive a full refund. Any attendance during a month constitutes a full month’s tuition. def SOL will refund you the remainder less a $30 administration fee. There will be NO refunds will be issued after Oct 31st (Semester 1) and after March 31st (Semester 2) …drop outs this close to show time set the whole team back. Transfers to other scheduled courses allowed only if available and the students meets the criteria.
We require a minimum of 6 participants to run a class. If low enrollment occurs, registered students will be notified 24 hours in advance and given a full refund or given the option to switch classes if an alternate option is available. If a class is cancelled by def SOL Productions due to weather, instructor illness or any other relevant conflicts, it will be rescheduled to a later date that works for the ‘majority’ of the class.
